Position Description Summary: The P&O Business Partner provides support to the assigned location(s) through recruitment and selection, talent management, labour and employee relations, and training. This position also assists in developing, implementing, monitoring and controlling programs and policies as well as supporting management in applications of HR programs. Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations): • Collaborate with the People & Organization Manager, Operations Managers, front-line supervisors, and associates to efficiently manage administrative processes, including new hires, promotions, transfers, leaves, disciplinary actions, and terminations. • Monitor, track, and maintain leave management records, while advising employees on benefits and related inquiries. • Coordinate full-cycle salaried recruitment in partnership with Schenker’s shared global service teams, including pre-screens, interviews, onboarding, and orientations. • Manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) to ensure compliance with all training and development programs across the site. • Partner with the P&O Manager to conduct workplace investigations, manage disciplinary actions, handle grievance procedures, and implement strategies aligned with business goals. • Provide guidance on attendance management, accommodation requests, and performance issues under the direction of the P&O Manager. • Interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and respond to inquiries related to policies, programs, and compliance matters. • Stay up to date with human resources legislation to ensure best practices and compliance. • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all HRIS platforms, generating regular and ad hoc reports to support HR commitments. • Ensure adherence to company policies outlined in the Policy Manual and Collective Bargaining Agreement. • Provide analysis and project management support on various HR initiatives. • Contribute to HR projects and perform additional tasks as required. 

Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel): • Minimum Degree and/or Diploma in Business Administration and/or relate discipline or experience, with an emphasis on Human Resources Management. • Minimum three years experience in a Human Resources Generalist position. • Labour relations experience within a unionized environment is an asset. • CPHR designation, Knowledge and understanding of labour and employment laws and regulations is an asset. • Strong customer service orientation and quick response attitude. • Excellent written and oral communication skills Team player and relationship builder with proven leadership and business acumen. • Ability to work with a diverse workforce. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment • Strong interpersonal skill and able to interact at all levels of the organization. • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner Initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point.
