  • Determine liability through the research of domestic and international tariffs including associated laws and contractual conditions. Adjust claims according to the limits of liability. 
  • Research/obtain all necessary documentation from the company’s systems, customers, field offices and other sources 
  • Provide claim status to stations and customers verbally/in writing 
  • Negotiate claim settlement to maintain both customer satisfaction and financial responsibility to the company 
  • File and recover claim settlements from responsible carrier through subrogation 
  • Determine the acceptability of high value shipments 
  • Ensure all international Cargo Insurance Claims Procedures are observed 
  • Promote and increase awareness of loss prevention through weekly updates with divisional managers and freight facilities 
  • Interpret and generate weekly and monthly reports and advise the field organization where trends exist and loss prevention opportunities 
  • Report weekly on excess value revenue generation compliance by region 
  • Actively participate in the Loss Prevention Committee 
  • Escalate claims awareness to Senior Management as outlined in company policies The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Solid interpersonal and analytical skills required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred. 
  • Requires 1-4 years of related experience. 
  • Full understanding and functionality of Micro Soft Suite of products preferred. 
  • Must take and pass the Certified Claims Professional test within first year to obtain certification.
